Girondins Bordeaux appoints David Guion as Vladimir Petkovic’s successor

Successor to Petkovic

FC Girondins Bordeaux, threatened with relegation, have found a successor after parting ways with coach Vladimir Petkovic. As the French first division club announced on Thursday, David Guion will be on the sidelines from now on. His contract runs until the end of the season.

His job will be to lead the club out of the relegation zone from last place. The gap to FC Lorient in secured rank 17 is only one point (to the table). The 54-year-old last worked for Stade Reims, where his tenure came to an end last summer after around four years. Guion led the club from Ligue 2 to the French top flight, where the club has since established itself. After Reims, Bordeaux is the coach’s second position as a head coach in the professional field.
