The five-year-old girl who has been missing in Pankow since Tuesday afternoon is dead.
Passers-by found the girl seriously injured around 5.40 p.m. in the Pankower Bürgerpark.
Alerted rescue workers tried to revive it in the park. It was taken to a hospital, where it succumbed to its injuries a short time later.
A police spokesman for the BZ: “We assume a homicide. A suspected 19-year-old has already been arrested in connection with this.”
According to BZ information, the five-year-old was killed by several stab wounds.

The police spokesman said the suspect was a 19-year-old German-Turkish man. This has a connection to the girl, who has German-Polish-Turkish nationality. However, he did not say what relationship the victim and the arrested person had to each other.
︎ The police had previously been in Pankow with a large contingent, almost 100 emergency services and a helicopter had been looking for the girl at times. It was last seen around 2:45 p.m. in Paule Park.
It is still unclear how the girl got from Paule Park to Bürgerpark, several hundred meters away.
