Girl (17) from Bruges school assaulted by professional football player during study trip

In the Clown Dogs dance café in Athens, five students from the Bruges Abbey of Zevenkerken were out for their last evening during their Greece trip. There, professional football player Boris Kleyman would have behaved inappropriately towards the girl. The goalkeeper was arrested and also had drugs in his pocket.

Contract broken

The president of the football club reacts by terminating the goalkeeper’s contract. Meanwhile, the students involved are back in the country.

Today the school sits with the girl to listen to her version of the facts. Later, there will be a discussion with the other students. Parents have also received an email.

Denies

Kleyman was due to appear in court today. He himself denies that he would have touched the girl. He says he did nothing wrong to her. According to various newspapers, he is now free by paying a bail of 20,000 euros.

The accounts of what would have happened that evening also vary widely.

Who is Clayman?

Boris Kleyman (33) was born in Ukraine, but went to live in Israel with his family as a baby. After years of football – including with the national team of Israel – he signed a contract with the Greek Volos in 2020. Until recently he was a goalkeeper there.

Kleyman has three children with his wife Lian.
