A girl was threatened with a stabbing weapon at the Sluispolderpad in Alkmaar last night by an unknown man. The police are looking for witnesses to the threat to the sixteen-year-old.
The police report that the girl is sitting on a bench at 9:55 p.m. when she is suddenly attacked from behind by a man. She manages to get up and comes face to face with the suspect. He then shows her a stabbing weapon. The sixteen-year-old victim manages to flee and alert the police.
Because the police have not found the suspect, the help of witnesses is requested. There are two specific witnesses who have caught the attention of the police: they were said to have been sitting on a bench nearby just before the girl was attacked.
Specific witnesses wanted
It concerns a man and a woman about eighteen years old. The two left about five minutes before the woman was attacked on her bicycle in the direction of Havinghastraat. Police hope the two have seen more.
The suspect has a light complexion and is around 30 years old. He is 1.85 meters tall and has a sturdy build. He may have spoken English and was wearing a face mask. Witnesses are asked to contact the general number of the police: 0900-8844, or via Meld Misdaad Anoniem.
