Giovanca Ostiana gets a big blow from the pan after her statements about her ‘backlog’ as a presenter of Op1. “What a gel*l, dude! You just can’t host a talk show!”
She is probably the most criticized presenter of Op1: Giovanca Ostiana. She thinks that this also has to do with her background. “I know that by definition I have a disadvantage, or rather several: I am black, I am a woman. And I am a believer, that also seems to cause a backlog,” she says in the JAN.
Johan responds
What incredible nonsense, Johan Derksen now responds in Today Inside. “I read an interview with that black lady from the EO, that’s a singer. Giovanco, yes (means Giovanca, ed.). She had received so much criticism on social media, but she understood that she had three things against: she was a woman, she was black and she was religious.
EO colleague Tijs van den Brink is also religious, but is not criticized, Johan objects. “He is simply judged on how he does his job, but she then hides behind those three things, of: yes, I have that against!”
“What a gel*l!”
Johan thinks that Giovanca is talking nonsense. “What a gel*l, dude! You just can’t host a talk show and you’re totally dependent on the autocue, because she’s panicking at that autocue when she doesn’t know!”
RTL Boulevard star Rob Goossens agrees with Johan. “How very painful this is,” he tweeted. “The sad thing is that she apparently forgot that she had a lot of goodwill left over from Vrije Sounds. So why 1-0 behind?”
Telegraaf star Wilson Boldewijn: “Yes, just say that it is quite a complicated profession. Look for it in yourself, that is power. Not everyone is made for the profession.”
Guido critical
Story editor-in-chief Guido den Aantrekker is very hard on Giovanca. “Um, no, Giovanca: you’re just not that good, to put it nicely”, he says briefly but firmly.
To Rob: “It’s a shame that no one has guided Giovanca in anything, when you have such an important program thrown into your lap. If necessary, do a crash course in journalism with you or me ?.”
