Singer known from Gimmel Jonna Christensen40, reveals that her own mother almost became known as a serial drowner Pekka Seppänen became a victim in 2007. Christensen told about it in an interview with Ilta-Sanomi.

In 2017, Seppänen was sentenced to 14 and a half years in prison for two murders, aggravated manslaughter, three attempted murders, arson, alcohol crime, assault and pimping.

Christensen’s mother was one of the victims whose life Seppänen failed to take. After drifting into the same group of friends as Seppänen, he went on a boat to the lake with Seppänen and other people who were intoxicated and didn’t know how to swim.

At that time, Seppänen capsized the boat. However, Christensen’s mother managed to get out of the situation alive. After being rescued, he continued to stay at Seppänen’s farm, where he died a year later. Christensen himself lived in California at the time.

The official cause of death was suffocation. According to his story, Seppänen was sleeping when the suffocation happened.

– Mother had told me that she probably wouldn’t be able to get rid of that group alive, says Christensen in an interview with Ilta-Sanomie.

In Christensen’s view, becoming a Mormon has helped in the grieving process. He still admits that he misses his mother often.

– But through faith I have found the comfort that I will see my mother again, Christensen says in the magazine.
