A wrong-way driver caused havoc on the A28 around 00:40 in the night from Saturday to Sunday. A head-on collision took place near Hooghalen.
Several vehicles are involved. Several people were injured, two of them seriously. Shortly before the head-on collision, the police say they received several reports about a wrong-way driver who drove from the direction of Haren on the A28.
The road is closed in both directions and traffic is being diverted. The fire brigade, the police and the Mobile Medical Team are present for assistance.
