Getting a ton of rotting meat out of a bankrupt butcher shop after two years, what a job

There, much to their horror, a mountain of meat weighing about one ton had been rotting in the cold stores for two years. A dirty and especially smelly job, but the men of the cleaning team are clearly not afraid of anything. Jeffrey Jaumain: “That’s a butcher shop that went bankrupt. The cold stores were still full of meat. When we came in here, we were told that the electricity had been cut off for six months. The bags containing the meat were on it ripped. The blood was pouring out, they were really fermenting, they had maggots on them. The smell was unbearable. The worst stench of my entire career.” (continue reading below the photo)

But the cleaning crew still had to get to work. The property had to be addressed before the sale. In total, about a thousand kilos of meat was cleared over four days, good for two containers. (continue reading below the photo)

Jeffrey: “Today we are still cleaning everything up and we are going to disinfect very thoroughly. The cleaned and disinfected cutting machines and tables will then be sold.”
