Apparently Thomas Gottschalk was also feverishly involved in the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday evening (May 14) – the moderator has now spoken with a post on Instagram. In it he also demands that ARD rethink sponsorship for the event.
“With all love, but we are now being fooled by the rest of Europe when it comes to the rating at the ESC. They just don’t like us,” Gottschalk concludes. “They sawed off the soft Malik just as much as the rocking Lord of the Lost. They were too nice too. If it’s Heavy Metal, then it has to rattle. There’s no use waving the rainbow flag either, but ARD simply has to turn off the money supply after all these bankruptcies. No gold, no glitter!”
Thomas Gottschalk on Peter Urban: “Couldn’t have found a better exit”
Thomas Gottschalk also sums up in his post: “Peter Urban could not have found a better way to leave, he did everything right.” And he already has an idea who could succeed him: “My sincere request to those responsible: Make Constantin Zöller from SWR on his successor. I know radio talent when I hear it. He is one!”
Thomas Gottschalk and Constantin Zöller already have a lot in common
At the end of 2021, the SWR3 show “Gottschalk und Zöller” was discontinued after two years. “During this time, more than one or two listeners advised me to finally retire. But I don’t. You can count on me. Not weekly anymore, but at some point I’ll be back – and then I’ll put on ‘Aerosmith’ mercilessly: ‘Back In The Saddle Again’”, says Gottschalk about the end of the show.
His colleague Constantin Zöller explained at the time: “I’m not quite sure how I’m going to live without Thommy and his 70s rock numbers with eight-minute guitar solos in the future. After all, the chronic headaches will subside. Thomas is the freest person I know – I appreciate the fact that he made time every Monday for the last two years and it expresses how much fun our show was.”
