WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis has admitted his guilt to four counts of traffic safety violations, says DailyMail.
Four people suffered multiple injuries in the accident, including a pregnant woman.
Under police escort, Davis drove away from a nightclub around 2 a.m. in downtown Baltimore on November 5, 2020.
At some point, the boxer broke away from the convoy, ran red lights and allegedly hit the side of a Toyota Solara. There was a pregnant woman inside the car Jair Smith with three other passengers. Prosecutors say Davis made eye contact with Smith but did nothing to help him. Instead, Davis fled the scene.
Davis did not attend his trial on Thursday, but previously pleaded guilty to four charges, including fleeing the scene of an accident and running a red light.
The verdict will be handed down on May 5.
The balance of Davis’ professional career is 28–0, 26 of which have come by knockout.
