Germany vs. Spain! Where will the Handball World Cup be broadcast live on TV?

On Thursday evening, the heated fight for the semi-final ticket begins for the German national handball team at the European Championships in Slovakia and Hungary. After the convincing group phase with three wins from three games, several top favorites are now waiting for the DHB selection from national coach Alfred Gislason. Where are Germany’s games broadcast on TV?

The German national team had to digest a lot of bad news in this European Championship tournament. No fewer than nine players from the DHB squad have had to go into quarantine after testing positive for the corona virus.

Julius Kühn was the first positive case in the German team, followed by his teammates Marcel Schiller, Till Klimpke, Andreas Wolff, Kai Häfner, Timo Kastening, Lukas Mertens, Luca Witzke and Hendrik Wagner.

Players can test themselves free from self-isolation by means of two negative PCR tests on the fifth day after infection at the earliest.

Germany’s handball elite will start the first main round game against defending champion Spain on Thursday evening (from 6 p.m.) with a completely different face.

Keeper Daniel Rebmann from Frisch Auf! Göppingen was nominated, as was left winger Patrick Zieker from TVB Stuttgart. Previously, goalkeeper oldie Johannes Bitter, left winger Rune Dahmke, pivot Sebastian Firnhaber and backcourt players Paul Drux and Fabian Wiede joined the team.

How strong is Germany in the European Handball Championship?

The German team surprised all along the line with the smooth 30:23 victory against the Poles after the team was so extremely battered in terms of personnel. Alfred Gislason’s squad is good as a team, as she proved this Tuesday evening at the latest.

But even the greatest team achievements have their limits. In the duels against the co-favorites Spain, Norway and Sweden, it will ultimately depend on individual class, which can make the difference at the top level of a European championship.

The German team will start as outsiders in all three encounters. The German selection should only be considered a slight favorite at the end of the main round against Russia.
