After the 3-1 win against the USA, the second test match for the German national soccer team is on the program against Mexico under the direction of national coach Julian Nagelsmann. From the perspective of German fans, however, the game is only for night owls. Where will the duel be shown on TV and stream? sport.de has put together all the information.
The criticism of the trip to the USA was one of the big topics surrounding the German national team. A few months before the European Championships, and in the midst of a busy schedule for the Bundesliga stars, the DFB selection is testing in the USA against the two co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup.
After the 3-1 win against the USA, the debut of national coach Julian Nagelsmann, in Hartford in the state of Connecticut, the national players travel to Philadelphia for the game against Mexico. While the duel against the USA took place in the afternoon, and therefore at the usual kick-off time for German fans at 9:00 p.m. (CET), on Wednesday (2:00 a.m. CET) against Mexico they have to wait longer.
Night shift for the German national team
The late kick-off time is also likely to be unfavorable for the DFB stars, as the club’s next competitive games are scheduled to take place shortly afterwards. The Nagelsmann selection is not expected back in Frankfurt am Main until Thursday morning, with Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen opening the eighth Bundesliga matchday on Friday evening (8:30 p.m.).
In order to speed up the return journey for the four BVB professionals Julian Brandt, Niclas Füllkrug, Mats Hummels and Niklas Süle who were traveling with them, the Revierklub even chartered a private jet. According to “Bild”, Dortmund will pay almost 100,000 euros for this.
Does the calendar possibly also have an impact on the starting eleven decisions made by Julian Nagelsmann, who had announced in advance that he would possibly take individual players into consideration? How does the DFB team perform against Mexico, who won 1-0 in their last meeting at the 2018 World Cup? And where will the game between Mexico and Germany be broadcast on TV and in the stream?
