Germany kicks off fireworks festival Knokke-Heist

The dike was full in the popular seaside resort and Dutch and Germans, among others, also wanted to experience the opening of the festival. A rainy evening did not stop the enthusiasts, because they had to wait three years for the well-known event. Just in time it stayed dry at 10 pm and the first arrow of the show, which lasts twenty minutes at a time, shot into the air.

Five evenings

The German team Pyrogenie kicked off and also fired electronic music at the audience. On August 21, 23 and 25 respectively France, Poland and Greece will illuminate the starry sky above Knokke-Heist. The closing show will follow on Saturday evening, August 27, which will be performed by the Belgian HC Pyrotechnics. They do not participate in the competition. After that, the organization will announce the winning country.

Exceptionally, the municipality allows beach bars to remain open until 10 pm during the festival. That is two hours later than the normal closing time. The fireworks can be seen near the Meerlaan, but can also be followed further down the dike or on the FM frequency 94.6.
