Germany announced on Monday that it wants to release around 200 million euros for the protection of the Amazon forest in Brazil. The country is making that decision now that Brazil has a government that attaches more importance to nature. Left-wing Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva took over the presidency from right-wing Jair Bolsonaro in early January.
