Greco-Roman specialist Roland Schwarz gave the German Wrestling Federation (DRB) another medal at the end of the European Championships in Zagreb.
The 26-year-old won his small final in the weight class up to 82 kilograms against the Azerbaijani Rafig Huseynov on Sunday and took bronze. It is his third medal at a major international tournament. He finished second at the 2019 European Championship and third at the 2021 World Cup.
Before Schwarz, Elena Brugger, Luisa Niemesch and Sandra Paruszewski from the overall convincing German women’s team and freestyle wrestler Horst Lehr had already won bronze at the title fights in Croatia’s capital. The EM also served as a location determination before the World Championships in Belgrade, where the first tickets for the Olympics in Paris will be allocated in September.
