German volleyball players get their first win

The German volleyball players won their first game in the Nations League at the third attempt.

With a sovereign 3:0 (25:22, 25:15, 25:16) the team of national coach Vital Heynen beat the team from South Korea in Bossier City (USA).

The best attacker among the Germans was Hanna Orthmann with 22 points, three of them after a block. The team is without the exceptional player Louisa Lippmann, who switched to beach volleyball.

The Germans lost the first two games in the Nations League against Brazil and Japan.

In the Nations League, the top 16 teams in the world for men and women play against each other at three venues over six weeks. After twelve games per team, the eight best teams advance to the final round. The games in this Nations League are important for the world rankings.

After the games in Bossier City, the German women will play in Brasilia (Brazil) and Calgary (Canada).
