German tourists flock to the IJmond and find it ‘schnuckelig und gemütlich’

Anyone who ever walks on the beach at one of our coastal towns will regularly encounter our eastern neighbour. The IJmond is increasingly visited by German holidaymakers and day trippers. According to the tourism sector, a record number will cross the border this year. 6.4 million German tourists are expected in our country. The question is why they also choose the IJmond as a holiday destination?

German tourists tell reporter Koen Bugter to visit the IJmond in the above video “because it is close by. Wijk aan Zee is the first coastal town from Münster and only three hours away.” Moreover, the Germans also enjoy the dunes and the view. “I see the steel factory, nature and the sea on top of this dune hill.”
