The German team of referees Robert Schulze and Tobias Tönnies will referee the semi-finals at the Handball World Championship on Friday (6:00 p.m. / Eurosport) between Vice-European Champion Spain and defending champion Denmark in Gdansk. This emerges from the appointments of the world association IHF.

For the Magdeburg team it is already the fifth appearance at the World Cup in Poland and Sweden. The duo, who are among the world’s best referees in handball, refereed the European Championship final between Sweden and Spain (27:26) in Budapest last year.

“We are pleased that Robert and Tobias were nominated by the IHF for the semi-finals. This is an award for the entire German refereeing system and an incentive for young people to get involved as referees,” said DHB referee chief Jutta Ehrmann-Wolf.
