The ensemble relies on female composers from Hildegard von Bingen to young talents such as Camille Pépin, alongside boss Robin Ticciati there are also many female conductors on the podium.
This is an announcement! In the 2023/24 season, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester intends to include the work of a female composer in every concert. Women from the 12th Century to the Present.
“We want to break new ground with it, and our musicians support it very much,” said spokesman Benjamin Dries (43). At the major symphony concerts in the Philharmonie alone, a proud 28 female sound creators can be heard, including Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179), the great mystic of the Middle Ages (28 January 2024).
The 32-year-old Frenchwoman Camille Pépin is one of the youngest composers. A violin concerto by her will be played (15.10.23).
The focus is supplemented by female conductors, who will appear alongside bosses Robin Ticciati (40) and Kent Nagano (71). Ruth Reinhardt (35) leads a large program (February 3, 2024) with star pianist Daniil Trifonov (32).
Highlight for families: At the turn of the year 2023/24, the orchestra will again come up with a colorful program with the Circus Roncalli in the Tempodrom. Advance sales for the season start on July 17, 2023.
