The round of 16 at the Badminton World Championships in Denmark takes place without German participation.
As the last representatives of the German Badminton Association (DBV), the doubles Jan Colin Völker/Bjarne Geiss lost against the Indonesian duo Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana with 12:21, 16:21 in the round of the top 32 on Wednesday.
Hours earlier, the mixed Jones Jansen/Linda Efler had lost 9:21, 12:21 against Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati (also Indonesia).
For the highly traded mixed duo Mark Lamsfuss/Isabel Lohau, bronze medal winners at the 2022 World Championships, it was the final stop on Tuesday in the second round. However, Lamsfuss’ preparation was clearly hampered by a knee injury.
