Two silver, one bronze – the German sport shooters cleared at the World Championships in Baku on Tuesday.
Florian Peter secured third place in the jump-off with the rapid-fire pistol. He also led the team with Rio Olympic champion Christian Reitz and Oliver Geis to the silver medal behind China.
Riflemen Maximilian Dallinger, David Koenders and Max Braun also won silver in the prone event in the capital of Azerbaijan, while Norway won gold.
“I’m very happy because I didn’t expect it anymore. I was glad that I got into the shoot-off,” said pistol shooter Florian Peter after a dramatic competition. “I took advantage of that and I’m more than happy. Mentally, that was by far my best final, I was very happy with that.”
The German haul of medals thus increased to six, which currently means fourth place in the medal table.
