German farmers’ protests reach peak: thousands of tractors take up position at Berlin’s Brandburger Tor

The farmers’ protests in Germany appear to reach a peak on Monday. According to German media, an estimated 5,000 vehicles have already lined up in the center of Berlin. The big demonstration is at the Brandburger Tor. To the west of this gate there are thousands of tractors on the wide avenue. Protesting farmers from all over the country have come to the capital after a week of protests. The police expect that there will be many more than the 10,000 demonstrators registered by the farmers’ organization.
