German environment minister: damage river Oder much bigger than just massive fish kill

German Environment Minister Steffi Lemke expects long-term damage to the German-Polish border river Oder, which has been hit by an environmental disaster that has caused massive fish deaths. It is impossible to say whether the river will fully recover, the minister emphasizes in an interview with media company ‘RND’. “Much more damage has been done in the Oder as an ecosystem than just fish kills,” says Lemke.
