German darts star celebrates “special moment”

Martin Schindler mixes up the darts tour. At the weekend, the German World Cup participant managed a 9-darter, a “special moment” for “The Wall”.

“In the first moment, of course, there was a lot of impetus. But I must also say that I quickly had the idea of continuing, continuing and doing my own thing in order to win my game against Boris Krcmar – which luckily worked out has,” said Schindler in an interview with “Sport1”.

At Players Championship 10, the 26-year-old provided the big highlight in the third round. In his narrow 6:5 win in the legs against Krcmar, Schindler managed the perfect game: the 9-darter!

“The experience was not entirely new for me, it worked before in the Q-School. But of course it was another special moment that felt damn fast,” commented the Berliner on the darts coup.

He was “very happy that I managed this 9-darter and I hope that one or the other will follow,” said Schindler. “Nevertheless, in the end it’s obviously more important to me to win the games,” said the German darts star.

Darts: Martin Schindler wants to “win tournaments”

Things are currently going well for Schindler on the PDC Tour. Last weekend, “The Wall” reached the Players Championship quarterfinals twice.

“The development is going up. But it’s also important that I can’t rest on my laurels. I have to keep working hard for it to get even better. There’s still a long way to go. I’m not completely satisfied yet,” Schindler was aggressive: “I want to win tournaments and do well in the majors. And hopefully one day be one of the best in the world.”

Schindler currently ranks 27th in the darts world rankings.
