German Chancellor Olaf Scholz plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future. About this Scholz told in an interview with the German TV channel ZDF.
“I will now go to the United States, and I will also continue to speak in Moscow in the near future on the issues that are needed there,” Scholz said.
He specified that a meeting with the Russian president had already been scheduled and “will take place soon.” Scholz also recalled the negotiations in the Normandy format, through which Germany, France, Ukraine and Russia (the countries participating in the Normandy format. — RBC) are trying to prevent a threat to the territorial sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine. “And we were really able to refill it [«нормандский формат»] life. Kozak called a difficult meeting of Normandy Four advisers
On the evening of January 26, a meeting of political advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Format countries on Donbass ended in Paris. The negotiations at the Elysee Palace lasted more than eight hours. Before the meeting, Andriy Yermak, head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said that the advisers would talk about humanitarian issues, the opening of checkpoints and the future work of the Normandy format. Following the meeting, the Russian representative, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak said that the conversation was not easy.
