Röiseland is the husband of eleven-time world champion and three-time Olympic champion Marte Olsbu Röiseland, who also won the overall World Cup last season. Alongside his wife, he has coached the Norwegian women’s B team for the past five years. Velepec was already the head coach of the Slovenian and the Ukrainian women’s and men’s national teams.

“Very proud”

“I’m just very proud of Sverre that he gets such an opportunity,” said the 31-year-old Norwegian. Even the eleven-time world champion has not yet decided whether she will continue her career. Sverre Olsbu Röiseland coached his wife in the past and was also active as a coach for young Norwegian biathlon athletes.
