The German beach volleyball players Svenja Müller/Cinja Tillmann missed the direct leap into the round of 16 at the European Championships.
Rome, who came third in the World Cup, lost to the Spaniards Daniela Alvarez Mendoza/Tania Moreno Mateeva in three sets (14:21, 21:19, 12:15) and thus took second place in Group A.
Also in the intermediate round, Louise Lippmann/Kira Walkenhorst (both Hamburg/Düsseldorf) are fighting for a place in the round of 16.
The German duo won against the Lithuanians Monika Pialikiene/Erika Kliokmanaite in three sets (21:15, 17:21, 15:12) and thus took third place in group D.
