German basketball world champions honored

For their thrilling win of the World Cup title, the German national basketball team was honored with the Pegasos Prize in the “Athletes with Heart” category.

“We showed what players and what a team can achieve,” said national coach Gordon Herbert at the award ceremony at the 41st German Sports Press Ball in Frankfurt.

The German team won the title for the first time at the World Cup in Asia in the summer.
