Gerdi Verbeet has been appointed ambassador of the De Duikelaar Hiding Museum in Nieuwlande. This appointment followed her visit to the museum on May 6, when she opened the exhibition ‘Mama will come and get me’.
Verbeet was, among other things, chairman of the Remembrance Committee of May 4 and 5 and from 2006 to 2012 she was chairman of the House of Representatives. With that experience, according to the museum, she emphasizes the importance of democracy and freedom.
