Gerard Depardieu, accuser Emmanuelle Debever commits suicide

ANDmmanuelle Debever has acted in very few films. Between these, A brutal jeau, by Jean-Claude Brisseau: an interpretation that dazzled the critics. But her name will probably go down in history for her tragic end, for her suicide: she threw herself into the Seine on December 7th. She was one of Gerard Depardieu’s accusers.

Actress Emmanuelle Debever, accuser of Gerard Depardieu, commits suicide

Debever had met Gerard Depardieu in the film Danton by Andrzej Wajda, from 1983. On 5 June 2019, when Depardieu was momentarily acquitted of the charges, Debever posted this message on Facebook, accompanied by an image of her and Gerard Depardieu in the film: «Mr Depardieu acquitted today of the charges of rape and sexual violence. No comment. In Danton I played Louison, Danton’s young wife. The sacred monster indulged in many things during filming, taking advantage of the intimacy of a carriage. She stuck her big paw under my slips, saying she did it “to feel better.” I opposed it.”

Liberation journalist Camille Nevers denounced how her desperation went unheeded, reposting the content on her Instagram profile.

Emmanuelle Debever took her own life at the age of 60 on December 7th. The suicide would have occurred at the time the TV investigation was broadcast “Complement d’enquête: The mouth of the ogre” about the actor accused of rape and sexual assault.
