It seems that Gerald Roethof does not have to count on a second invitation from Today Inside. “I think you have to have the right chemistry to fall well and that is missing with him.”
The men of Inside today are experimenting with new table guests. For that reason, the little-loved lawyer Gerald Roethof sat at the table last week. His performance was evaluated live on television last night by the VI men. “How did you like your colleague Roethof last week?” asks host Wilfred Genee to Job Knoester.
No chemistry
Job is not so enthusiastic about his fellow lawyer. “Yes, that is of course an annoying question. Or I am socially desirable and if I am critical, you say: you are talking about a competitor. Let me put it this way: he always has a good suit, he is of course eloquent”, is his run-up.
But, Job continues: “I think that when you sit here at the table, you must have a few things: you must have the eloquent, you must be quick, you must be quick. He has all that, but I think you also have to have the right chemistry to fall well.”
‘You’re right’
Wilfred sarcastically: “And you have it and he doesn’t, you say.”
Job notices that Wilfred has to chuckle about it. “I think so indeed. And that’s because I think I’m more into the football world. Yes, you are laughing.”
Wilfred: “Yes, I like that you say that about yourself.”
Weird men
Johan Derksen is also not very enthusiastic about Gerald: “No, but he is really right. We sometimes have people here who are good guests and then it doesn’t run for a meter.”
Job: “I think in this program, because you are three strange men, you have to be able to handle that and have the chemistry.”
Knock off guests
It often happens that new guests of Today Inside are criticized after their performance. For example, the gentlemen no longer want Rob Kemps at the table, among others. “He’s too nice. Mister Correct”, said Johan earlier.
Other celebrities who are no longer welcome are, for example, Steven van Brunswijk and Britt Dekker. “If Rob sits here, we want him to participate. That goes for him and that goes for that girl too. It was both nothing.”
