Russian President Vladimir Putin seems completely derailed. He has started a bloody war against Ukraine and has threatened the rest of the world with nuclear weapons. Completely off the track and that is why many people are concerned. Georgina Verbaan is now also taking a Third World War into account.

Georgina scores iodine

Georgina has already done some shopping in preparation for a devastating war. For example, she has bought iodine tablets at home. Taking it can reduce the risk of thyroid cancer in a nuclear disaster. That will also help against a nuclear bomb, the actress thinks.

When that nuclear bomb falls soon, Georgina will at least have them in the kitchen drawer. “You can only have it at home. It is valid for years and only costs 2 euros or so,” she says.

‘Don’t help with nuclear disaster’

Lars Roobol of the RIVM states, however, that iodine tablets are not at all useful in the event of a nuclear disaster. He tweeted: “The detonation of an atomic bomb releases much less iodine than an accident at a nuclear power plant. Certainly if it explodes far away (as far as we receive a dose of iodine) there is no cause for concern.”

If the nuclear bomb falls on the center of Amsterdam, where Georgina lives, taking iodine tablets is not necessary, according to Lars. “Then you’re not there anymore, you can’t worry about iodine either.”

emergency radio

Georgina promises that she will only take the tablets if the government tells her to. “Yes, fortunately it is also explicitly stated on the front of the packaging.”

So how does she get the messages from the government when the whole country has been bombed to the ground? She bought an emergency radio for this. “Last week I bought a crank radio that can also run on solar energy.”

face mask

How’s it going with Georgina anyway? Very bad. She is currently acting as a kind of clown. Anyone else suffer from perioral dermatitis (also called clown eczema) during / because of corona? Maybe it’s because of the mouth mask I wear in the house so as not to infect my child?”

That would be the best way to go, according to Georgina. “Could it be. But in the past two years I often wore a mask for hours, days, and have not been bothered by it for two years. That’s why I ask anyway.”
