The riot around Georgina Verbaan, who expressed her pity for the hostage taker in the Apple Store, has already gone down, but at the last minute the actress still has to deal with a big sneer.
Georgina Verbaan received a lot of social media yesterday because she expressed her condolences to the man who held a tourist hostage for six hours in the Amsterdam Apple Store. He was hit by the police after the hostage drama. “Weird evening. Still very sad that that man was hit,” she tweeted.
Criticism of Georgina
The people reacted furiously to Georgina. A handful of celebrities, including Britt Dekker, also spoke of it as shame. In the meantime the storm has calmed down a bit – after all, we have something else on our mind with the war that Russia has started in Europe – but Georgina still gets one big sneeze at her head.
Farja Farvardin and René Watzema, the men of the RUMAG program The GossipLoog, lash out at her hard. “I think Georgina Verbaan’s mindset was: it’s nice that he was hit, but it is a bad thing to see. It is sad to see that a person has been hit by a car,” Farja says first.

When Farja reads the tweet one more time, he is convinced: “Georgina has always been a crazy person. I think, Georg, you should have just kept out of this, because of course this makes no sense at all what you’re saying. I’m glad that man was hit.”
He continues: “I tried to straighten it out a little bit for you, but no. It literally just says ‘what the hell that man was hit’. I should have put a bullet through his head right away.”
René: “Well, I understand that you would rather that than see him hit right away.”
Farja: “That man should have died right away! Go on, it’s on fire!”

The hostage taker in question has since died of his injuries. Farja: “Hope Georgina is okay.”
Georgina has informed RTL Boulevard that she no longer wishes to respond. In Shownieuws, Evert Sankrediets expressed his annoyance about her: “Yes, but Georgina is really Miss Peace Dove, isn’t she? He wants everything to be sweet, nice and fun.”
