Georgia is the German opponent in the intermediate round of the Basketball World Cup in Asia.
With a clear 70:59 (42:23) against Venezuela on Wednesday, the team conquered their second victory in the preliminary round and can no longer be pushed out of one of the first two places.
Whether it is for the team of national coaches Gordon Herbert on Friday or Sunday against the Georgians will only be decided with the game of former European champions Slovenia against Cape Verde (1.30 p.m.).
Slovenia would have to lose to the underdogs by 24 points or more to be eliminated. With an expected victory of the team of star players Luka Doncic the Slovenians, like Germany, would go into the second round with three wins.
In this case, Germany would play Georgia on Friday and Slovenia on Sunday to conclude the main round. Only the top two teams make it to the finals in Manila.
