After numerous cancellations
World champion of 2006 is apparently supposed to be Italy coach

Italy is still looking for a national coach. After Claudio canceled ranieri, a World Cup hero from 2006 apparently comes into focus.
A year before the start of the World Cup, the Italian national team is there without head coach. Wish solution Claudio Ranieri has given the association a cancellation – after a short consideration.
The 73-year-old called it a “great honor” that he was offered the leadership of the national team. But ultimately he decided to remain loyal to the capital club as Rome as a consultant. Ranieri had recently stepped in there as an interim coach.
Because Stefano Pioli is likely to hire a second candidate in Florence rather than the Italian Football Association, a world champion from 2006 is coming to the fore: Gennaro Gattuso. Sky Sport Italia reports that there has already been a first contact between Gattuso and the Association.
The former Milan professional knows the “Squadra Azzurra”: in 2006 he won the world championship title with her. And he also made a name for himself as a coach and won the Italian trophy with the SSC Naples in 2020. However, other coaching stations – for example at AC Milan, FC Valencia, Olympique Marseille and Hajduk Split – remained without any noteworthy success.
Italy threatens the next sporty debacle. After missing the past two world championships, participation in the upcoming world tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico is also in danger. In the recent qualification game against outsider Moldau, it was only enough for a lack of 2-0. Norway is clearly ahead in the group.
In addition to Gattuso, Fabio Cannavaro (most recently at Dinamo Zagreb) and Daniele de Rossi (most recently as Rome) are also considered options in Italian media.
