To the case of Generation Zoenow add Oops Coin: the scheme of cryptocurrencies that promises to multiply income based on an investment.
Given the proliferation of this type of schemes that lead to massive scams, the question arises: How to differentiate a serious project from a pyramid scheme?
In recent years, many scams have been known through this model in which income is generated from the recruitment of people that each member develops on their downward structure. From this, those who participate allocate funds with the illusion of generating genuine income from the sale of a product, training or technology.
In this case, Oops Coin is the company that is added to the list, as a new false promise of earning money based on an investment.
The company uses the technology of cryptocurrencies as a hook, but without establishing a clear objective, or shaping a scheme that supports the project. On the contrary, it is only based on people who invest in a pyramidal way, revealing that they have no livelihood, and leading to an expected fall and end.
Those who join this crisis and a new scam are the great figures of the artistic and sports world, among them, Marcelo Tinelli, L-Ghent and Wanda Narawho participate – usually with ignorance about what the objective of the project is and what the underlying issue is – promoting the product, and thus creating a “false advertising”.
However, the critical issue in all of this is understanding what cryptocurrencies are and what they are for, as well as knowing when it comes to a serious project or another pyramid scheme. For this you have to consider:
- Have a value proposition
- That has a technological and commercial objective
- That generates value in a genuine way
The lack of education is the first and main weakness, and along with it, not really understanding what the purpose of technology is and its usefulness. In this way these schemes, which are based on the ignorance and desperation of the people, succeed, although sporadically since they end up opting for scams.
