The men signed the contract live on Tuesday evening, under the watchful eye of ‘little director Marco Louwerens’. Orally they were agreed for some time. The three will thus continue to make their daily opinion show until June 2025. With this, John de Mol keeps his showpiece on SBS 6 inboard. Inside today has been scoring for months and beats the other talk shows of RTL 4 (Beau and Jinek) and the public broadcaster (On 1). Under the new agreement, the men are said to earn between 1.2 and 1.4 million euros per year.
Wilfred Genee and Johan Derksen have been making a weekly football talk show since 2001, which René van der Gijp later joined. The show (initially on RTL 7), which was broadcast on Mondays and Fridays, had different names over the years: from Football Insite until Football International. In the summer of 2018, John de Mol brought the three to Talpa where they continued under a new name at Veronica: Veronica Inside.
After the success of The Orange Summer, the daily show of the three during the sports summer of 2021, it was decided to let go of the football-based talk show. Since September 2021, the trio can be seen on SBS 6 during the week, where they talk about many other things in addition to football, with a different guest every day.
