For the first time in his career, Tallon Greek track is in the semi-finals of an ATP tournament. The tennis player from Nieuw-Vennep didn’t have to do much for that, because his opponent in Pune, India, was injured.
The Croatian Marin Cilic was too bothered by his knee. A stroke of luck for the Greek track, who won convincingly in the quarterfinals yesterday. With that, the Dutch number 95 in the world seems to be in good shape again, after some lesser months. Earlier this year, the Nieuw-Venneper was still in 44th place. The ATP tournament in Pune is a preparation tournament for the Australian Open that starts on January 16 in Melbourne.
Later today the Botic van de Zandschulp from Amstelveen will be in action. He will face the German qualifier Maximilian Marterer in the quarterfinals.
