Geert-Jan ten Brink from Annen will continue as dike warden of the Hunze en Aa’s water board. Ten Brink was first appointed as dike warden in 2017. The board of the water board wants him to be reappointed for another six-year term. It is up to the Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management to make the reappointment official.
The 61-year-old Ten Brink was born in Vries and has held various positions in Drenthe politics. For example, between 2006 and 2010 he was alderman in the municipality of Aa en Hunze on behalf of the PvdA. He was also mayor of the former Groningen municipality of Slochteren.
