Gas price has fallen sharply as countries rush to fill reserves

European natural gas prices fell sharply this morning. This happened after it became known that Germany is filling up its gas reserves faster than the average expectation. The country wants to be well prepared for the coming winter. The price on the leading Amsterdam gas exchange fell by 16 percent before the exchange, to 286 euros per megawatt hour. Last week, prices rose by no less than 40 percent.
