Gas line open again but ‘Russia has us by the balls’

Russia and its European customers are connected via an extensive network of gas pipelines. Nord Stream is now the primary route, but far from the only one. Gazprom can supply gas to Germany via Belarus and Poland (that pipeline is now shut down due to Russian sanctions against the Polish operator), as well as large volumes via Ukrainian territory. In addition, a pipeline runs through the bottom of the Black Sea to Turkey, from where gas can be transported to customers in Southeastern Europe.
