A gas bottle has exploded on a parked truck along the Vichtesteenweg in Deerlijk. A perimeter has been set. The incident occurred this morning at the crossroads of Belgium. According to Focus, it is a truck of a roofer with gas bottles on it. “One of those gas cylinders exploded. A safety perimeter of 50 meters has been set up because there are still a few gas bottles on the truck,” Piet Beirlaen of the Fluvia fire brigade zone told Focus.
Traffic along the Vichtesteenweg is completely blocked. According to the fire service, it could take several hours before the road is clear again.
