The Berlin fire brigade reported a gas outflow in Niemetzstraße in Berlin-Neukölln on Friday morning.

As a result, traffic on the Ringbahn of the Berlin S-Bahn had to be stopped and several buildings had to be cleared.
Around 50 firefighters are on duty.

The S-Bahn lines S41, S42 between Treptower Park and Neukölln and the S45, S46 and S47 between Baumschulenweg and Neukölln are affected.

According to the Berlin Federal Police, the reason for the route closure is a gas line damaged during construction work. According to the police, it is currently not foreseeable how long the route will be closed in Neukölln and Treptow.
