Garnacho, Schade & Co.: 5 Premier League talents for your Sorare team

Can be used in “Under 23” mode

On January 30 there Sorarethe leading NFT-based fantasy sports game, announced its partnership with the Premier League (Advertisement). The Bundesliga, Serie A, LaLiga, 15 teams from Ligue 1 as well as the US NBA and MLB are already official partners of the trading card game – the largest football league in the world is now one of them.

In addition to seasoned professionals like Harry Kane, Kevin De Bruyne or Bruno Fernandes, which every football fan should have on their list, many talents are also available as NFTs, which belong to the future of the game. Transfermarkt presents five of these youngsters, all of whom can already be used in Sorare’s “Under 23” competition – a mode in which only players who were 23 or younger at the start of the season participate.

Alejandro Garnacho – 18 years old – Manchester United

One of the starters of the current season plays for Manchester United and bears the name Alejandro Garnacho. The 18-year-old Argentinian is a native of the attacking wings and joined England in October 2020 as a 16-year-old from Atlético Madrid for a small fee of €465,000. The right-footed player made his professional debut in April 2022 and has established a permanent place in the team this season under coach Erik ten Hag. Garnacho had appeared in every Premier League game since November, registering two goals and two assists, before an ankle injury forced him to watch for the first time in March.

As a reward, arguably Man United’s greatest talent quintupled his market value from €5m to €25m in the Premier League’s latest update. At Sorare, Garnacho hasn’t torn out a tree with a point average of 36 over the last 15 games. For comparison: teammate antony is currently at 47, the one who is in top form Marcus Rashford even at 59. These scores are, among other things, decisive for the free-to-play mode, in which each manager has a budget of 400 points at his disposal. The players cost a lot according to the point average. So Garnacho is currently a cheap alternative to equip the team elsewhere with footballers who have a higher average.

Wilfried Gnonto – 19 years old – Leeds United

Has a player profile similar to Garnacho Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United. With a height of 1.70 meters, the Italian with Ivorian roots is mainly about his speed. He already demonstrated this in his youth with Inter Milan and in his first professional position at FC Zurich. Twelve goals and ten assists in 74 games in Switzerland saw Leeds pay €4.5m plus bonuses and a resale clause for him in the summer of 2022.

After slight initial difficulties, Gnonto is one of the permanent staff for the “Whites” this season and was directly involved in seven goals (four goals, three assists). Similar to Garnacho, the yield of scorer points can be expanded, but the potential is clearly recognizable. For Gnonto, the market value update went from 10 million to 18 million euros.

Rico Lewis – 18 years old – Manchester City

At Manchester City is Rico Lewis the biggest surprise of the season. The 18-year-old right-back suddenly came into focus in the summer because with Oleksandr Zinchenko a full-back left the club and the desired replacement Marc Cucurella went to Chelsea. With Kyle Walker, João Cancelo and Sergio Gomez suddenly only three nominal players were left for the defensive wings and Lewis took over the squad after convincing preparation.

The English youth international showed his qualities in a total of 18 appearances and scored his first goal in the 3-1 win in the last group match of the Champions League against FC Sevilla – as the youngest city professional in the history of the “premier class”. “I don’t give gifts. He had to earn it,” said coach Pep Guardiola afterwards. “But we saw his qualities from day one. When he played against Bayern Munich in pre-season, we felt that he had something special.”

Lewis was so convincing that the “Skyblues” gave up another of the players mentioned in Cancelo in the winter without signing a replacement. In the update, his market value jumped from one to 15 million euros, and his point average at Sorare is 44, which is already higher than that of team-mate Kyle Walker (42).

Kevin Schade – 21 years old – Brentford FC

Meanwhile, he hasn’t had that many appearances in the Premier League Kevin shame, who moved on loan from SC Freiburg to FC Brentford in the winter. In the summer, a purchase obligation of 25 million euros will then apply, which is said to be linked to a certain number of games and is already considered certain. In the second half of the season, the right winger has played eight times for the “Bees” (one assist).

The first nomination and the first assignments for the German national team came as a surprise to many. His performances with the U21s may have played a major role in this – there he collected six points in four games under coach Antonio Di Salvo. “Kevin has qualities that are rare in German football,” praised DFB colleague Niclas Füllkrug. Due to the still low point yield at Sorare of an average of 35 points over the last 15 games, Schade is currently still relatively cheap.

Evan Ferguson – 18 years – Brighton & Hove Albion

Evan Ferguson made his Premier League debut on 8 January 2022, becoming the youngest player in Brighton & Hove Albion club history. At 17 years and 4 months he was almost a year younger than the previous record holder Facundo Buonanotte. The centre-forward has since secured his place in the history books of the “Seagulls” and has also been able to impress in sport since the turn of the year.

Between 31 December and 21 January, Ferguson was directly involved in five goals in four Premier League games and was rewarded with a €9m increase to €10m in the market value update. In addition, he was allowed to play for the Irish national team again after his debut in November – and scored in the 3-2 (2-2) win against Latvia as the youngest player in his country since Robbie Keane in 1998.
