Game show A year of your life asks participants to live in isolation for a year | show

SBS6 comes with a new game program. A year of your life is being labeled the longest game show ever. Forty participants lock themselves up for a year with a million euros in prospect if they ‘survive’ the game.

The program is a bit like a combination of Big Brother and Utopia. The forty participants are staying at an as yet unknown location, where only basic facilities are available. To pay for maintenance and other necessities, they can fulfill assignments to fill the ‘household pot’. Is the pot empty and things still have to be paid for? Then the prize pool of one million euros can be opened. That means that the eventual winner will go home with less than a million.

The number of participants decreases through elimination rounds. Incidentally, no new participants are added, no one is replaced. The last participant standing will be crowned the winner and go home with the final prize pool.

The participants are not yet known. In fact, it is still possible to register for the program on the Talpa website. The registration form asks, among other things, which personal goals you want to achieve with the program and whether you are available for a year from the end of August. A year of your life can be seen on SBS6 every working day from Monday 5 September at 6.30 pm.
