GAME OF THRONES actress and actress Maisie Williams reveals she was annoyed by her role as Arya Stark on the show. Williams cites her puberty and the associated changes in her own body as the reason for her dislike. As a result, her body image was no longer consistent with what she portrayed to the public:
“I think when I first started becoming a woman, I got angry with Arya because I couldn’t express who I had become,” the Bristol, England actress told GQ. “And then I got angry at my body too, because it didn’t match the part of me that the world was celebrating.”
Williams has fond memories of Dreh
However, that doesn’t mean she’s negative about her time on the set. But on the contrary. Williams calls the cast of the HBO series the best thing that has ever happened to her. When asked if she misses GAME OF THRONES, Maisie Williams replies, “I don’t think it’s healthy [es zu vermissen]’cause I loved it. I love looking at it and I’m so proud of it. But why should I make myself sad about the greatest thing that has ever happened to me? I don’t want to associate that with feelings of pain.”
Maisie Williams played young orphan Arya Stark in the fantasy series GAME OF THRONES from 2011-2019. For her performance, she received the Saturn Award as best young TV actress at the Berlinale 2015. She was also nominated for an Emmy.
