Game distributor Tom Overtoom extends expiring contract with Telstar

Tom Overtoom will also shine in Telstar’s shirt next season. The 32-year-old midfielder has just extended his expiring contract in Velsen-Zuid by one year.

Overtoom played 31 league matches for Telstar last season in which he was accurate three times. In addition, he was good for three assists with the White Lions. Telstar closed the competition last week with a 2-1 win over NAC Breda and therefore finished ninth in the first division.

Overtoom previously played at Ajax, HFC Haarlem, Sparta Rotterdam, SC Veendam, FC Volendam, Excelsior, FC Emmen, NEC Nijmegen, Almere City and since 2020 at Telstar.

Team takes shape

With the extension of Overtoom, Telstar’s skeleton is taking more and more shape for next season. Thomas Oude Kotte previously extended his expiring contract. Mitch Apau already had a continuous commitment and backs Jonathan Mulder, Yahya Boussakou, Jay Kruiver and Jayden Turfkruier also continue. Of the basic customers, Christos Giousis also has a contract until next summer. Telstar is still looking for the signatures of Ronald Koeman Jr., Özgür Aktas and Delvechio Blackson. Anass Najah and Anwar Bensabouh seem to be looking for a new club.

Yesterday Telstar met with Youssef El Kachati the first summer transfer inside. The striker comes over from Quick Boys, where he is in the lead in the top scorers ranking of the second division. Glynor Plet seems most likely to have played his last game for Telstar. Technical manager Peter Hofstede indicated this week that he is mainly looking for offensive players. “Those who can do that well are often at a club higher than Telstar.”
