“FC Bayern just screwed it up”

On Saturday afternoon it will be decided whether the FC Bayern season will go down in the history books as catastrophic or “just” as mixed. In the long-distance duel with BVB, however, Munich have the significantly worse cards. Holger Badstuber sees problems everywhere at his former club.

“The season was a season full of disruptive fires, which together became a conflagration,” wrote the 34-year-old in a guest article for the “web.de” portal.

In fact, chaos has reigned continuously on Säbener Straße for months. “There was no recognizable clear line in the club management, the communication to the outside seemed inconsistent, there were too many topics off the pitch that caused unrest,” Badstuber noted critically.

In particular, the club management around CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic have not given a very good public image in recent weeks.

“The result is a team that isn’t intact and doesn’t deserve to win titles either,” said Badstuber harshly.

Badstuber: “FC Bayern just messed it up”

Meanwhile, Badstuber cannot understand that coach Thomas Tuchel, who only followed Julian Nagelsmann in March, is already being questioned in some places. The 49-year-old is “the right man in the right place,” said the former international.

“He’s tough on himself, tough on the team – this mentality is required now, everyone at Bayern needs this mentality when reflecting on this season,” emphasized Badstuber. In general, “board of directors, club management and transfers” should now be questioned.

However, he no longer believes in a Munich miracle on matchday 34. “BVB will be German champions because Bayern made them so. With seven defeats, it really wasn’t an outstanding performance of the season from Dortmund, in between BVB was completely left behind. Bayern just messed it up,” Badstuber summed up.
