The Austrian professional cyclist Felix Gall won the fourth stage of the Tour de Suisse and thus took over the yellow jersey.
The 25-year-old from Team AG2R Citroen drove away from the group of favorites with around 20 kilometers to go and maintained his lead of almost a minute. The best German was Maximilian Schachmann (Berlin/Bora-hansgrohe) in tenth, 1:49 minutes behind.
Behind Gall came the Belgian world champion Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) and the previous overall leader Mattias Skjelmose (Denmark/Trek-Segafredo). In the overall standings, Skjelmose is now two seconds behind the Austrian. Evenepoel follows in third place, 16 seconds back.
The fifth stage takes the riders on Thursday from Fiesch over 211 kilometers to La Punt. On the way there, two climbs of the highest category and one of the first category have to be overcome.
