GALATASARAY NEWS – Extraordinary council meeting started in Galatasaray

Extraordinary board meeting has started at Galatasaray Club.

The council committee of the yellow-red club gathered at Galatasaray High School Tevfik Fikret Hall to evaluate the developments after the extraordinary election general assembly of the club, which was planned to be held today, was stopped by the court.

In his speech at the meeting, Aykutalp Derkan, Chairman of the Board of Galatasaray Club, stated that the election process that started at the club was interrupted by internal and external pressures, and said, “Today, we would normally carry out an election that would pave the way for Galatasaray and provide refreshment in the management. We had to hold the council meeting. As our elders, who took part in the founding philosophy of the Republic of Turkey, the great Galatasaray community, which formed the intellectual basis of the founding cadres of the Republic, and the new generation of its representatives, we have to show the unity, solidarity and power of the Galatasaray community both internally and externally. The issue is very clear,” he said.

“I WAS EXPECTED TO RELIEVE THE GALATASARAY MOSQUE”

Explaining that the professionals and lawyers of the community put up a great struggle for the election to be held, Derkan said, “We have two very valuable presidential candidates. Even though the election was cancelled, we have to give credit to these people and club employees. Our management also has certain reasons for not attending the meeting. I would expect them to join in and relieve the Galatasaray community,” he said.

DIAMOND: WE DON’T COME TRUE

Club chairman Burak Elmas and members of the board of directors did not attend the meeting, where the members of the council and club members showed great interest. Burak Elmas explained the reason for not participating in the extraordinary council. President Elmas said, “We do not find it right to hold such an extraordinary meeting by going out of the relationship we have held so far. They could have preferred to organize this meeting in a more accurate way.”

In the meantime, it was noteworthy that there were ballot boxes in the hall within the framework of the preparations for the election, which was planned to be held today in the yellow-red club, but canceled yesterday with a court decision.

On the other hand, club members are collecting signatures for an extraordinary election.
